Destiny sucks

(DC comics Fanfiction, anyone can join if you want. I wanted this to be a story of young anti-heroes.)

history: Alex North looks like an average kid, but he has a dark secret. his father is the king of the underworld, Hades, and his birth was fortold in a prophecy that ends with the world being merged with the land of nightmares, so you can imagine how much he hates his life right now. he refuses to believe in the prophecy and continues to disobey his father by being a hero, rather then a villain, using his command of fear to stop criminals rather then cripple the good guys.

"NO! NO! MAKE IT STOOOOP!" a man screams, the man was part of a group of three, they had just robbed a bank. the man spun around on the ground, trying to break free of the imaginary snake which had him in it's grasp. PLEASE! STOP!"

"as soon as you promise to return the money you stole and turn yourself in." a young boys voice says from the shadows.
"YES, YES OK! I'LL DO IT! JUST MAKE IT STOP!" the snake disappeared and the man scrambled to his feet. "wha- what was that? fear toxin? what did you work with scarecrow or somethin?" the man asks. the boy steps out of the shadow, black hair shining in the moon light. "no, that was all real. I made it real. fear gas pales in comparison to me." the boy says. "fear gas can only make you feel scared, I can bring your fear to life. now go, fulfill your promise to me. before I change my mind and feed you to your imaginary snake." the man grabs the bag of money and runs in the direction of the police station. the boy stands for a few minutes making sure the man is out of sight, then he falls to the ground. he gasps for air for a few minutes and clutches his heart. "damn....that was the first time I used my powers....outside of the nightmare realm....I barely held out." he says staggering to his feet.

"maybe you should practice a little more in the real world then." a gruff voice said from behind him. the boy turned to see "batman? whoa....you are like...awesome." he says. "I mean...My power is control over fear, but you can create it without using any powers...that's like..."

"awesome?" batman says, eyebrow raised.

"well...yeah. so ah, you...you watched me fight those guys? I'm alex by the way, alex north." he says.

"I know who you are...knightmare. I just wanted to make sure you really where a hero, as people have said. not many people use fear as a weapon against crime. I had to be sure." batman said. "that being said....I am impressed, and that isn't easy to do. get in the car, we need to talk." he says as the batmobile's camouflage feature turns off.

"Ohmygod....THE BATMOBILE! DUDE THIS THING IS....I mean, yeah, that's cool, I guess." Alex says catching himself and jumping into the back seat.

"don't touch anything." batman says getting into the front seat and closing the top of the batmobile.

"so, what is all this about? you want me to be your sidekick or something? cause I'll stop you right now, I am nobodies sidekick." Alex says.

"no, I don't do sidekicks anymore. I am putting a team together, and you fit the profile." batman said.

"oh, not another teenage hero team put together so you can keep us in line, haven't you had enough of that with teen titans and young avengers?" alex says "besides, I don't work well with others."

"it isn't like that. this team is made up specifically of kids like you. kids who have been told that they will bring about the end of days. kids who are the spawn of the worlds, no, the universes most dangerous threats. like I said, kids like you." batman said. "the team is small right now, in fact you are the third member." batman says as he pulls into a rock, which wasn't real, and drives straight into a large underground cavern.

"is this...?" alex started.

"the batcave? no, this is your hideout. you, raven and braniac 5, so far." batman says "I have the justice league rounding up others as we speak."

"so wait, you want to put all of us in one room together? the worlds greatest threats? and you want us to work together to save it?" alex says a bit confused.

"not all of the greatest threats, just a select few, the ones who decided they didn't want to be threats, the ones who vowed to protect instead of destroy, or take over." batman says "I know what you're thinking, well let me explain it in a way you can understand. all of you have one big thing in common. you are being used by your parents for world domination, or destruction, depends on who you ask. well if, for example, Hades decides he is ready for you to plunge the world into eternal nightmare, well I doubt ravens father will be to happy about that, he will give his duaghter the energy necesarry to stop you." batman says.

"so we are a failsafe...for ourselves. but wait, what if our parents try to work together." alex asks "wouldn't that mean you made it easier for them?"

"you've spoken with your father, does he seem the type to share in world conquest?" batman asks.

"ok, point taken. they are all arrogant fucks who want the world for themselves." alex says.

"I wouldn't use those exact words...but yes, if it does become a problem, there are whole legions of heroes on speed dial in the watchtower, ready to bring you all down if need be. which makes keeping you all in one team the best option for everyone."batman says "even you, since you claim you want to protect the world, if your father ever took control of you, this would be what you wanted right? a failsafe?"

"yeah...ok I'm in then." alex says sitting back. "but like I said, I don't really play well with others, so don't expect me to..."

"I don't care how well you all get along as long as you stick together. I'm not easy to trust, and I am the only one vouching for this team right now, so If I where you i'd do what I say. Superman is already working with diana and the other league members to build each one of you personal prisons that will drain out your powers and keep you from having contact with your parents, to ensure the safety of the world. I don't think that's fair. I suggested this, if it fails because you didn't want to listen to me, then you will be put in those cells." batman says

"so, is this because of last month? with trigon and raven?" alex asked.

"don't mention it infront of her...but yes. I'm sure she knows, but I am also sure she doesn't want to hear it either." the batmobile stops in the middle of a platform, which starts to lower.

History: iliastor looks human but he isn't he is the 26th reincarnation of a deity/God named Nexus whose true parents are the incarnation of chaos and Justice constantly at war. In a battle both being evenly matched the Nexus was born so the two incarnations knowing that his power could destroy either side he chose sealed his power away due to the fact that he could tip the balance of good and evil any which way he chooses.
Separated from his full godlike power he searches for his grace which was sealed up on earth.
He gets feelings of his true-self calling out to him and every body he enters has the number tattooed on its back.
He was given 26 lives to find his true self now on his last life chaos and justice try to sway him whichever way they can but he refuses to be their pawn.
He may not have his true power but he retained some ability such as immunity to disease.
Genius intellect, he is able to travel to other dimensions, he has visions, a protective aura which is very durable and minor psychic abilities.
Growing up in this current body he came from a privileged family who gave him a great life but he has to find his own place in the world.

(accepted anyone can roleplay as dc comic characters, just don't take over someone elses character.)

Alex gets out of the bat mobile and steps over to a large metal door. a green robot pops out of a small hole and scans him. "DNA annalysis complete, welcome Alex North, son of Hades." it said in a voice familier to him. "brainiac?"Alex said pointing to the robot.

"brainiac 5 has rewired some of the salveged brainiac tech from the last battle with the alien robot to use as security and to help fight crime. this robot will only recognize people with your exact Genetic code, that means they can't just look like you or even use magic to appear as you. they have to be you." Batman says, the batmobile shuts and the left starts.

"well, I guess I'm on my own from here." alex says watching batman leave, he turns and the doors open. he walks inside and sees a large room with a couch, a television, a kitchenn area, and to the vary side was a laboratory which looked like it could be moved to a different room. a large computer was on the wall and a small boy-like thing was sitting infront of it.

"hi, I am brainiac 5, you can call me...Brian. I believe you humans often misspell brain and brian, so it seems a fitting name" he says smiling.



"that is surprising...you made a joke." Alex says as he walks over to brainiac 5.

'and? are you assuming I am unable to make jokes because I am a robot? I assure you that I have advanced beyond mere robotics, I feel, I understand, and I have feelings. that is perhaps why I, unlike my father, am able to understand the difference between good and evil. I am not some souless machine....I mean....I don't have a....nevermind." brainiac 5 says, getting embarrassed as he realizes he doesn't actually have a soul.

"hey, emberresment, that's enough proof for me." alex says smiling and holding out his hand. "I'm knightmare, but...my real name is Alex North."

Brainiac smiles and takes his hand. "good to meet you alex north."

"OW OW OW, robot grip! robot grip!" alex screams as Brainiac 5 lets go of his hand.

"sorry, I am just getting used to being around...people." he laughs uneasily.

"hey, don't sweat it. you are new to this. me too, I don't really work with others, at all." alex says.

"don't worry, I used to be the same, then I joined the teen titans and, well, it changed my life." a female voice said from behind.



raven came up from the ground out of what seemed to be a shadow.

History: Hestia is one of the children of Ares the only difference is that she inherited the most of his godly blood due to the fact that her mother is a demigod putting Hestia in a league ahead of demigods. She has been blessed by the Gods leading a privileged life also but Ares wants her to be a conquerer and to rule over the mortal world.
She just wants to live her own life

History: Growing up Corbin has always been different he never got hurt and was able to do incredible feats but he suffered greatly. Pain seemed to follow him wherever he went...he was bullied and shunned by humans the believed him to be a metahuman freak.
Little did they know that he was something greater he is the son of Darkseid. He use to challenge his father constantly but Darkseid being the brutal being that he is beat Corbin badly and exiled him to earth broken. His last words to his son while he was barely conscious was "you will learn through pain and suffering you are the future plague I will unleash on this planet."
Corbin had to adopt a human form to pass as human but in his powered up apocalyptian form he goes by the alias phaos.
Corbin helps people when he can but his only friend seems to be iliastor the only person who wasn't affected by the evil karma that surrounds him

At a fencing competition a person in white is going against someone in all black.
The white fighter is on the defensive blocking the black fighters strikes....the white fighter is taking few steps back while the black fighter is aggressive.
The crowd is quiet while the watch the competition...while they stare intently.

Soon the black fighter is frozen as the white fighters rapier touches the heart.
The black fighter removes the helmet "COME ON YOUR GOING TO COUNT THAT LUCKY STRIKE" the boy said angered
The white fighter removes the helmet revealing her blonde hair and gender...
(Hestia)"You believe that it was luck but I just saw through your dismal display which you deem worthy for fencing" she says
The boy laughed. ."really now I know it was luck you couldn't be fast enough to strike me and block" he says

Hestia looks at him giving a penetrating stare..." Really then come at me with all you got...I'll give you 20 seconds before I pick up my weapon" she says dropping her weapon....
The ref comes in the middle to stop this illegal challenge but the black fighter pushes past him and attacked Hestia.
Hestia dodged the strikes for 20 seconds he was unable to touch her...then almost lightning fast her weapon was in her hand and she struck the black fighter 5 times the last strike to his head.
"It wasn't luck" Hestia says as she walks past the frozen boy who is stunned bt her skill as she leaves the competition and gets into her limo.


Corbin was sitting in a tree on a branch.
"You done watching your competition" he says to iliastor who is at the base of the tree...
"Yea this girl is amazing. ..I hacked a satellite to see this live and she decimated the opposing teams ace" he says
(Corbin)"I'm sure it was something" he says uninterested

The limo that Hestia is in is suddenly in the air flying over to the top of a large building where it is sat down on the roof. a gentle knock is heard on the glass of the window as supermans face comes into view of anyone looking out of the window. "hi, I saw what you did back there, pretty impressive. could we talk?" he says smiling and waiting patiently for the answer.

"hey Alex, come here, I wanna show you something." brainiac 5 says. Alex walks over to the computer screen brian was sitting at. "what's up brian?" he says.

"before you got here I was monitoring all of earths satilites to check for anything suspecious when I noticed one of them getting hacked, I wanted to see why it was being hacked so I didn't do anything to reveal I knew what was happening, and the hacker seems to have used it to look at a fencing competition." brainiac 5 says "I mean, this is high level intelligience being used to look at people fighting with swords, that was a bit weird, right? I mean, I can't be sure because I can't say I understand humans too well."

"no, that's definitely weird...unless it isn't the competition someone is watching but the competitor. who won the match?" Alex asks.

"I don't know, I walked away to introduce myself to you before the match finished." he said bringing up the uplink to see the black fighter wounded. "I assume it wasn't him. so it must have been the white fighter." he said "I'll track the video feed around the stadium to find them." brainiac 5 said. "as soon as I do the person will know that someone else is watching though." he says as he moves the feed from the stadium to outside where they see the limo being picked up by superman.

"whoa...that's superman...you don't think that's the winner in the limo do you?" Alex says.

"whether it is or not, superman picking up someones limo is alot more interesting then finding some competition winner." Brainiac says. he hits a button and a computer voice says "audio drones deployed. "they will be there in a matter of seconds and we, along with the hackers will be able to hear what superman is saying." brainiac says.

"why them?" alex asked.

"because I am routing the audio through the satellite, I want the hacker to know we mean them no harm, that we are just as interested in what is happening as them." brainiac 5 says. "plus, I want to show off how good I am, no one can hack like me."

Hestia steps out the limo.....
"Thanks for the compliment but your superman. ..what business could you possibly have with me...now the Amazon's or wonderwoman maybe" she says wondering what superman has to say.

Iliastor looks at his IPad. .."hmmm someone's tracing the satellite hack Jesus I was just watching a live match..." he says

(Corbin) "just break the link..." he says lazily

Iliastor sighs crushing the device with his mind....he begins to sob but Corbin hops out the tree and.."get over it your rich" he says...
Iliastor gets up and follows..."not rich just have an abundance of money" he says walking behind his friend

"Diana didn't think she could come and meet you without baring some form of grievance, so I decided to come and get you." superman says. "sorry, DIana is wonderwoman, some people don't know her real name." superman floats over to her and lands next to her. "I am here to give you a choice. you are one of the most dangerous beings on earth, and we want to ensure your interests are the same as the people of ours, which is justice." superman says "if you accept my proposal you will be escorted to a place where your powers can be used for the good of humanity, while simultaneously being kept in check for, again, the good of humanity. if you refuse, well, I hate to put someone is a cell preemptively, but we also can't risk someone like you being loose on the streets. you understand I don't mean to hurt your feelings when I say someone like you. I just mean, someone destined by their father to harm the human race."

"Really so are you going to lock up every child of every dictator. ..because they could become mass murderers....matter fact what about you...don't you have a known weakness for magic with all your power a simple magician can make you into a great harm to humanity....wait didn't darkseid brainwash you into serving him.." she says upset.

"Your a bloody hyporcrite....any superhuman can become a threat to humanity just ask the justice lords...well thanks for the offer but I refuse...either I'm forced into a group or imprisoned some options. ..your supposed to be the hero right..." she says walking away


Corbin and iliastor prowl the streets talking about their lives. ..
Corbin always careful to stay away from people. ..a woman with a baby bumps into him and his eyes widen....
"Sorry young man" she says
"Miss no stop don't move" he says trying to grab her but she got scared and tried to cross the street the same moment a car was speeding by ...
Iliastor noticed...Corbins negative karma caused horrific circumstances for people close to him let alone full contact. ..
Iliastor ran into the street shielding the woman as the car broke against him and he is unharmed. ..."you ok miss" he says

"O THANK YOU" she says hugging him
Iliastor just looks at a saddened Corbin

"that is the reason the justice league exists. we have contingiency plans for every hero and villian on earth, in case they become unmanageable. these are last resort options, and with you kids, well you are already in the last resort phases, seeing as you where sent to earth for the specific purpose of destroying it, or in some cases taking it over." superman says. "you know your father can use his powers to take you over because that is what you where created for, he had no interest in children, he wanted a human body that could handle his powers. batman designed the team to allow you alla chance to prove that you can handle yourselves, that you could keep your parents from taking over your bodies, and if you couldn't, you would have a safe place where you knew your parents would be stopped as soon as they tried. this team isn't designed as a prison, it is designed as a form of help, just like the justice league, which not only keeps the other heroes in line, but also has to keep itself in line. if I go crazy, batman has a kryptonite infused laser cannon hidden somewhere on earth that I can't get to. one shot straight to my heart, and I'm done. am I happy batman has designed such an efficient way to kill me? no, of course not. but I can't deny that I wold want him to use it as a last resort if anyone took over my mind again and we couldn't stop him. I would rather die then harm anyone."

"First of all I was born not created I have my own mind and soul thankyou and the justice league can handle Ares I'm sure they can handle me you guys have enough heroes and teen heroes ....I'm not joining any group...now goodbye you can't force me to be a hero. ...just come up with a contingency plan for me hell the Amazon's or Dr fate ..You for all I care..." she says walking away

She thinks for a moment. ...
"You know what I'll go just to see what this is all about" she says turning back

superman nods as he lifts her up and flys her to the secret hideout.

Hestia walks inside..
"Really a robot boy, raven from the titans and the son of Hades" she says

"You want them to be a group of heroes"

"hey, what's wrong with us?" Alex yells at the girl. "so...I guess we are kinda like cousins, right? I mean my dad is...your dads uncle or whatever." Alex said. "I was never vary good with greek mythology in school. I mean, I didn't really go to school for too long after I got my powers so..." alex stopped talking for a minute then blue flames grew on his body "hey, how about we fight! yeah? you like showing off your fighting skills, and I want another demigod on the team so I don't feel like such a badass all the time. if I win you join us no questions asked. if you win, well then you can choose to leave." Alex threw his fist into the air "how about it then!?"

Hestia walks past him.... "no thanks I don't just fight for no reason and I'm not like you so I'll just sit here and wait till you guys show me something worthwhile" she says sitting down

Meanwhile
People crowd around iliastor..."no I'm not kryptonian or superhuman" he says pushing past the people and running to find Corbin....he slips in another dimension as he does when he teleports and time is frozen. ....
"Oh no you" he says

(Chaos)"why are you surprised to see me...is it because I embody the darkness in your heart" he says
"No because your living evil and I'm ashamed that I was born because of you and Justice you cowards" he says
Chaos fires a energy ball at him knocking him back while he clutches his chest in pain.
(Chaos) "listen boy your power is nothing good deeds you do make you her pawn evil deeds make you mine either way there is evil in you and you spent so many lifetimes trying to hide but I will make sure you burn this world to the ground Baldur" he says disappearing

Iliastor gets up as he finds Corbin and warps to him. ..."hey where u going" he says
(Corbin) "away from humanity no matter what I'm Darkseids pawn the evil karma from being his son makes me unable to coexist with humans...your v a deity that's why your not affected" he says sitting by a fountain

"I know how you feel nothing can change our fates" he says sitting next to him

Just then doctor fates symbol appears before them and sucks then both in before they can act they are then at the secret hideout
