You forgot to mention that any dx9 card is going to be a worthless steaming turd pile in a few months. DX10 as you know is completely different and requires the card to have programmable dynamic (or whatever) pipelines rather than traditional architecture of dedicated pixel and shader pipelines. Not to mention that in multiple card configurations dx10 compatible cards will probably be better for direct physics.

even if dx10 is out, the game is still not out yet. I guess dx9 will be here for just a bit longer (maybe till early half of next year). I think once dx10 card is out and Vista and games, gfx maker still need to fine tune until they can get it right.

Yeah, my 7800gt will be fine for a while, I'm just saying it should be known to anyone getting a dx9 card now that if they wait 1-2 months they can get a new dx10 card that will outperform in yee olde quaint dx9 games and the new dx10 as well.

Something to think about before buying 2 7900gtx cards. And yes, there are people who as recently as last month purchased over $1000 of video cards that will be obsolete soon.

That's the case with any video card purchase. In 6 months it is old stuff.

Well...you know what I'm saying right? Some people are under the impression that late dx9 cards will be dx10 compatible and are unaware of the vastly different architecture required. It's different then "oh well, I'm gonna have 10fps less than a top of the line card"

I've seen the differences. They aren't going to make these new games choke on a DX9 video card. Besides, some games actually use standards such as OpenGL.

Rumor has it that the dx10 games can be quite demanding on current dx9 cards. Also, there are some games on the horizon that require a lot of system resources. Well, I guess we all just need to be happy with what we haveSmile.
