Angst, angst, and uh, more teenage angsty relationship crap. Old Sun Jan 11, 2004 9:15:16 PM #1329 Perm Link
Alright, I don't know what's wrong with him, but this is what happened tonight.

We haven't talked in three days, and the first day he calls we are arguing about everything.

We argued about the meaning of life.
We argued about whether or not chemical reactions were the cause of emotions.
We argued about why I wasn't posting on the message boards.
We argued about the true meaning of the word "delusional."
We argued about whether or not I was paranoid.
We argued about why I should or shouldn't go outside more.
We argued about the level of "pathetic" that I am.
We argued about whether or not people who act stupid really are stupid.
We argued about whether or not silence was a good thing.
We argued, rather he, about whether or not the type of music I listened to was "creepy" or not.
We argued about every. fucking. thing. For two hours straight.

Then, after about two hours of arguing about everything imaginable to the human brain, he hangs up on me.

I tried to explain logical thinking to him and he kept ending up with the conclusion that I was "pathetic." I told him that pathetic was not a logical factor, and he said "that's just pathetic."

Am I really pathetic then? Is he just being an asshole for no apparent reason? Are we just drifting apart?

Ugh... This fucking sucks. =\

God bless:
Jeffrey Dahmer, David Berkovitz, Albert DeSavo,
Ted Bundy, Albert Fish, John Wayne Gacy,
Edward Gein, Charles Manson, and Harvey Carignan.

That does sound like it would suck, but if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Yes he did sound like a jackass saying you were 'pathetic' but there are really only two things that can happen.
1) He'll call you up, or see you at school or wherever and apologize to you.
2) You guys'll break up, which means your relationship obviously wasn't meant to be...then you'll find someone better, perhaps someone with the same way of thinking as you.
Personally, I think it'll be number 1 or something to that effect. All it really sounds like was a fight (a more serious fight, but a fight nonetheless), so it should blow over.

Listen to some emo.
It really does help.

As for that, is this your first fight? Lol come on, it can't be. People are meant to be together all the time. People get into "moods", and all this has to be taken into consideration. As stated in the above, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Naw, I'll settle for depressing blackened doom metal. (<3 Unearthly Trance)

He also said I sounded depressed, when I was happy. *Sigh*...

It is our first fight. o.O;

I think he was upset for a few reasons. 1) He wanted me to open up to him about myself and I couldn't, or wouldn't. I'm just not used to being open with people. 2) I didn't call him for three days and he thought I was upset with him as it was. 3) He was acting immature the last time I did see him and I told him he was, but half-jokingly. 4) I've been kind of pulling away lately because I'm afraid of commitment, and he knows this.

And I was upset because I've just been in a mood lately.

Let me tell you something darling. A relationship will never really reach a truely meaningful level unless you communicate. People can't ever really understand one another unless they open up about themselves. Understanding is a great human need. He may have feelings for you but is confused about where the realtionship is going because he has no real understanding of what exactly it is that is on your mind. Of course, I may be totally full of shit or maybe someone who has watched countless friends and relatives head down the path to divorce court during my 48 years as a citizen of this planet.

Opening up to a person is difficult. It's by human nature(and intelligence) that you don't trust everything that moves. We're a paranoid species....Opening up...is like taking down your shield. Opens the path for relationship, while also allowing you to get hurt easily =P It sounds like he should be more patient...how long have you been going out?

Not that I've ever been in a relatioship, but this is the way I percieve it.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

A two-hour argument? Over the phone? Wow... Conversations, filled with large periods of uneasy silence can last hours, but an argument? It can't be an entirely <span style="font-size: 2px; line-height: normal">negative</span>* thing.

* In a humanistic/instinctively perceived, psychological way, of course.

Local calls are free... @_@

I have a cast-iron sheild, and I take it down for no one... I told him this when we first started going out. I told him that I don't open up easily, and that it probably wouldn't work out. If for no other reason than I don't trust <b>anyone</b> that much.

We've been going out for two months.

I don't even think he's really about understanding and all that. I get a very strong impression sometimes that he is just in the relationship because he thinks he's going to get some. I really do think that. You see, the relationship is more physical than it is emotional, it always has been. It's just easier for me to be physical than it is emotional. Of course, it's not <b>that</b> physical, but that element does outweigh the emotional connection. All my relationships have been like that, and I think he truly might want an emotional bond with me, but I'm just not that secure to
